How ThreadSave works
ThreadSave finds the media files in a public Threads post and gives you a download button for each one. We don't add watermarks and we don't re-compress the files: you get the same file Threads serves for that post. It works with:
- Videos (MP4)
- Single photos (JPG)
- Carousel posts (several photos and/or videos)
The only requirement is that the post must be from a public account. Private posts cannot be accessed.
How to download Threads videos on iPhone
Open Threads and find the post
Open the Threads app on your iPhone and navigate to the video or photo you want to download.
Copy the post link
Tap the three-dot menu (⋯) on the post, then select "Copy link". The URL will be saved to your clipboard.
Go to ThreadSave and paste
Open threadsaveapp.com in Safari, tap the input box, and paste the URL (long-press → Paste).
Download and save
Tap the Download button. When the file appears, tap "Download Video" and it will save to your Files app. You can then move it to your Camera Roll.
To save directly to Photos on iPhone, tap and hold the Download button, then choose "Download Linked File". Then move it from the Files app to Photos.
How to download Threads videos on Android
Copy the Threads post link
In the Threads app, tap the three-dot menu on the post and select "Copy link".
Open ThreadSave in Chrome
Open Chrome and go to threadsaveapp.com. Paste the link into the input box.
Download the file
Tap Download. The file will download directly to your Downloads folder and will be accessible in your Gallery app.
On Android, videos save automatically to your Downloads folder. Open your Gallery or Files app and look in Downloads to find them.
How to download Threads videos on PC or Mac
Get the Threads post URL
On the Threads website or app, right-click the post (or tap the three-dot menu) and copy the link.
Paste into ThreadSave
Go to threadsaveapp.com in any browser, paste the URL, and click Download.
Save the file
Click the download button and choose where to save the file on your computer. The video will be saved as an MP4.
Tips & troubleshooting
Link not working?
Make sure the URL starts with https://www.threads.com/ (older threads.net links work too). Our troubleshooting guide explains every error message. Links to profiles or search results won't work — you need the direct URL to a specific post.
Video quality
The video you download is the version Threads serves for that post, so its resolution depends on what the creator uploaded and how Threads processed it. ThreadSave doesn't reduce or change the quality.
Can't find the download?
On iPhone, check the Files app under Downloads. On Android, check the Downloads folder in your Files or Gallery app. On PC, check your browser's default download location (usually the Downloads folder).
Frequently asked questions
Is ThreadSave free?
Yes, completely free. No subscription, no premium tier, no hidden fees. In the future the site may show clearly labelled ads to cover its running costs.
Does it work with carousel posts?
Yes. Carousel posts will show individual download buttons for each image or video in the post.
Can I download from private accounts?
No. ThreadSave only works with content from public accounts. This is intentional — private content is private for a reason.
Is there a download limit?
There's no official limit on the number of downloads. If you're downloading very large volumes, you may encounter rate limiting — in that case, wait a few minutes and try again.
