DMCA Policy

Copyright infringement reporting and our response process.

Last updated: January 1, 2025

ThreadSave respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users to do the same. In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and applicable international copyright law, we will respond to valid notices of alleged copyright infringement.

What ThreadSave does and does not do

ThreadSave is a tool that allows users to download publicly available media from Threads (threads.com). We do not host any media files on our servers — we act as a proxy that fetches publicly accessible content at the user's request.

We strongly discourage users from downloading and redistributing content they do not own. Our Terms of Service explicitly prohibit using ThreadSave to infringe copyright.

How to submit a DMCA takedown notice

If you believe that content accessible through ThreadSave infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to our designated agent with the following information:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the person authorised to act on behalf of the copyright owner
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed
  3. Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing, including the specific Threads URL(s)
  4. Your contact information: name, address, telephone number, and email address
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
  6. A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorised to act on behalf of the copyright owner

Where to send DMCA notices

Send DMCA takedown requests to:

Email: dmca@threadsaveapp.com
Subject line: "DMCA Takedown Request"

We will process valid DMCA notices promptly and take appropriate action. Note that since ThreadSave does not host media files, the appropriate action in most cases is to block specific URLs from being processed by our service.

Counter-notification

If you believe your content was wrongly removed in response to a DMCA notice, you may submit a counter-notification containing:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature
  2. Identification of the material that was removed and its location before removal
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed due to mistake or misidentification
  4. Your name, address, telephone number, and a statement that you consent to jurisdiction of your local federal court

Repeat infringer policy

ThreadSave will terminate access for users who are found to be repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.

Misuse of DMCA process

Please note that misrepresenting that content is infringing may subject you to liability under the DMCA. Before submitting a notice, consider whether the use in question might qualify as fair use or another exception to copyright.
