ThreadSave ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use ThreadSave at threadsaveapp.com, how we use it, and your rights.
By using ThreadSave, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
When you use ThreadSave, you submit a link to a Threads post. We use it only to find the media in that post. If you write to us through the contact form, we receive the name, email address and message you enter.
Automatically collected information
When you visit ThreadSave, we automatically collect certain technical information, including:
- IP address (used temporarily for rate limiting, not stored long-term)
- Browser type and version
- Operating system
- Referring URL
- Pages requested
- Date and time of your visit
This data is collected via standard web server logs and is used solely for security, abuse prevention, and service improvement.
Cookies
We use minimal cookies to improve your experience:
- Language preference: We store your selected language in your browser's local storage so you don't have to choose it every visit.
- Advertising cookies: Once ads are enabled, third-party advertising networks such as Google AdSense may use cookies to serve and measure ads. See their privacy policies for details.
2. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and operate the ThreadSave service
- Prevent abuse, spam, and excessive use (rate limiting)
- Monitor and improve site performance and reliability
- Understand how users interact with the service

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
3. Data storage and retention
ThreadSave is designed to be privacy-preserving:
- Links you submit are kept only in temporary memory for up to 1 hour to speed up repeat requests, and are never written to our database
- For statistics we record only that a download happened (media type, time and how long it took) — without the link or your IP address
- Downloaded media files are never stored on our servers — they are streamed directly from Threads to your device
- Rate-limiting records (IP address + request count) are automatically deleted after 1 hour
- Contact form messages are kept so we can reply; ask us and we will delete yours
- Server logs are kept for a limited time for security and troubleshooting, and are rotated automatically
4. Third-party services
We use the following third-party services that may collect data:
- Google AdSense (once enabled): advertising service that may use cookies to serve personalised ads. Google Privacy Policy
- Google Analytics 4 (once enabled): measures page visits and whether downloads succeed or fail, using cookies. 5. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of personal data we hold about you
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data
- Objection: Object to certain uses of your data, including advertising
- Portability: Request your data in a portable format

6. Children's privacy
ThreadSave is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

ThreadSave is operated globally. By using our service, you consent to the processing of your information in the country where our servers are located. We take appropriate safeguards to protect your data in accordance with applicable laws.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of ThreadSave after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
